Choo-Choo!

My first official toddler session...this little guy was such a trooper. The sun was out, but it was a little chilly. With his toy train in hand, he was happiest, that's for sure. I just loved his little red kicks - too cute! Toddlers are fast & I am not yet, so this was definitely a learning experience for me. Yes, I have a 2 year old myself, but she is not a fan of the camera (wonder why?!), so I've not made her go through a session with me. After this one, I might try it, just to see how it goes...I did make a few mental notes for next time, too.

Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Thanks for letting me share some extra time with you guys! It was a great morning.

94 Years Young

Today is my Grandpa Leo's 94th birthday...yes, 94! He has Alzheimer's & is in a nursing home, so we took the party to him this past Sunday. It seemed to be a good day for him, so that was nice to see. My mom said he was even a little disappointed Aryn didn't want to talk to him more than she did. She had practiced singing "Happy Birthday, Papa Leo" for the past 2 weeks, but of course, didn't sing a word when asked. As soon as we got back in the car, guess what she did - sang "Happy Birthday." Silly kids...

I took lots of pictures, but wanted to get this one posted. After I took it, I showed it to him & he said, "Pretty good looking!" I wonder what he thinks of digital cameras. : )

Scherle Maternity

This first-time mom didn't really want to do a maternity session, but, seeing as how she's my sister - that was not even an option! : ) And, when the weekend rolled around to do these, neither one of us could hardly breathe, talk or really felt like taking pictures. But, we managed to get through a quick session & got some keepers we're both excited about. Can't wait to be your favorite Aunt, Baby Scherle!

Thanks for being good sports, you guys! I'm looking forward to photographing your little princess(es)!

Crayons & Play-Doh

On a blog I stalk, she mentioned finding still lifes left around the house by her daughter. She posted some of the pictures, which if you saw them, you would probably take them for granted and/or clean them up right away. But, she mentioned that they probably wouldn't be happening for too much longer (I don't know how old her daughter is, she didn't say). It got me to thinking...that is so true. Our children make their presence known in so many ways & why not capture some of those tiny masterpieces. Today, Aryn was coloring & when I went back to check on her, she had done this. It made me think of the "still lifes" post, so I grabbed my camera. Hopefully, I will be getting more of these types of images to show you. Have a great week!

My Friend, Nicole

Hello lovelies - just wanted to say hi & pass along a new blog for my friend, Nicole. She is a very talented abstract artist, who also does commission pieces (check out her horse painting - wowza!). If you know anyone who might be interested in purchasing her artwork, please pass along this information, as well.

You can see some of her work here, too.

2009: Recap / 2010: Now Booking!

Wow. What a year. While it was filled with more-than-the-usual personally challenging events, creatively it was the best. year. ever! What great therapy it was to be around doting, in-a-fog, so-in-love parents and their sweet little newborns. Thank you to my many friends and family who helped be a part of lolo design studio's inaugural year! I loved clicking the year away & getting to spend more time with each of you. It was such a gratifying experience, which I hope to continue and expand in 2010! Better get started on that... : )

So, with that said, I am going to open my "book" & start scheduling photography sessions from March to (early) November. However, Maternity & Newborn sessions will be available year-round. Alphabetography photos/frames are also available year-round.

I hope each of you has a safe & Happy New Year - thanks again for being great. And, lastly, what's a post without a picture?

Straight No Chaser

If you haven't already heard this men's a capella group, who originated at IUB in 1996, then click here for a little listening enjoyment. Or, even better - support their talent & buy an album for yourself or as a gift. They're great entertainers, so check them out on YouTube, too.

Hope your Holidays aren't too crazy & stressful. If they are, puh-lease sit down, have some hot cocoa in your favorite mug & think how blessed you are to {have a warm home, have loved ones around you, have a job, etc...}...Merry Christmas!
